New arrangements for Safeguarding Training at Levels 1 & 2 June 2010
In response to the Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2010, the Essex Safeguarding Children Board (ESCB) and the Essex Children's Trust Board (ECTB) initiated a review of the current arrangements for safeguarding training at Levels 1 & 2.

REVISION OF SET PROCEDURES - MULTI AGENCY CHILD PROTECTION PROCEDURES FOR SOUTHEND, ESSEX AND THURRICK
CONSULTATION Monday 5 July - Monday 2 August
The revision of the SET Procedures has been taking place over the past year and is now nearing completion. The consultation version of the document will be available on LSCB websites from Monday 5th July until Monday 2nd August 2010 together with a form for sending in any comments / feedback.
The use of force to control or restrain pupils - new guidance and an updated model policy
New "use of force" guidance was published by the DCSF in April - and should be used by schools until (when? if?) the Department for Education (DfE) updates the documents. The full guidance, which includes guidance on effective practice and how to record and report significant incidents, is posted on the ECA website.
Essex Quadrant Key Contacts - Assessment and Referral Processes
Wendi Ogle-Welbourn, Director for Commissioning, (Schools, Children and Families) has written to partners to thank them for their support during the locality review and implementation of changes.
Practitioners formerly in TASCC
The South, West and Mid Quadrants have now successfully moved, followed by the North East Quadrant at the beginning of April. There will be a revised line management structure for the newly established Multi Agency Allocation Groups (MAAGs) and over the next few weeks new structure charts will be circulated.
